Using a device for cheating purposes in US Western region state Nevada now is illegal. Most of the casinos have been warned about the most recent cheating mechanism. They will be punished if they use it in future. A special program that can be used on Apple’s iPod Touch as well as iPhone to help count cards is at the heart of the warning. An executive at one of Las Vegas’ casinos said, “If a player uses the program and is caught inside doing so inside of our casino, we will take the same steps that we follow in any other situation where cheating is involved.”
Actually the state was not the first to detect the program. The authorities were informed of the program’s existence on a tip from California gaming regulators. Then the Nevada Gaming Control Board issued a memo previous week to casinos in the state warning very clearly. Many say card counting using a device is not something like that is thought lightly. They think it is one type of felony offense in Nevada. On the other hand, over the years in the state have been several different cheating schemes that have been sniffed out by Nevada administration.

For apparently uncertain reason the NVDIA Graphics Update 2009 is been removed from both Apple’s website and software update system just after two days of its release. The update was released to provide improved cursor movement and also set to boost HD video playback on the new MacBook Pro’s running NVIDIA’s GeForce 9600M graphics cards as well Mac systems that use GeForce 7300 GT chips.
Mean while Apple discussion forums have been littered with cases of notebook graphic issues. One of the Macbook Pro user, reported issues in a Mac Pro thread, saying,
My new MacBook Pro display screen is blinking or flickering every few minutes now. I’ve only noticed it when I’ve switched to the integrated 9400M graphics processor. I don’t recall seeing any blinks when using the discrete 9600M GPU.
However, other user are claiming the same problems but blaming on the software saying,
My external display (lacie electron) goes black 4/5 times in hour, for 5sec each time, (then) go back to normal state… under bootcamp it’s PERFECT!!! No issue with the external display!!
